Quitting Smoking, starting running

I may be in for the day from hell. I'm embarking on two little "journeys" today. First I'm kicking this nasty, dirty habit of smoking that i acquired during pharmacy school, for what reasons I'm still unsure of, and I'm going to start RUNNING.

Previously, i would only RUN for last call. I don't RUN. I hardly walk. I prefer to think i sashay. Either way, at almost 30, it's disgusting that i can't run a mile. So the goal is a 5k. I'm thinking it will take about 8 weeks to get me to that point on a treadmill and then I'll have to cart my fat (hopefully less fat) ass outdoors to experience running in the freezing cold Dirty Jerz late fall.

Another FYI about me, I'm a foodie. I love to cook, I love to eat, I love to cook FOR people and watch THEM eat. So that might be a clue as to why i could afford to drop twenty, oh, say, yesterday. So I'm sure we'll be sprinkling some recipes and I'll add a daily menu. I'm not sure if i can low carb it on top of the no smokes and the new I'm trying to pop a lung by running daily thing, but I'll be counting calories, so I'll just post dinner for me and the hubby, if you're interested in the recipe, let me know! Enjoy, and god help me.

Todays Menu:
Stuffed Peppers
Old School Mashed Potatos

  1. It's too bad that you don't have an email address. I just deleted your comment you left on my blog. I have my personal email, if you'd like to write to me personally. As a seasoned blogger, I have learned to leave courteous comments to others. Your comment was definitely snarky, and I hope that you can understand that this is not how we treat other bloggers. If you disagree with the way I make a recipe, there is a much kinder way to say to. Or, you can email me, privately. If you'd like to offer your expertise, and want to resubmit your comment in a kinder manner, then I would approve it.
